Customers come into our IM Wireless stores all the time to ask questions about their iPhones, and often times it can be about their battery usage. Depending on your daily activities, there are a few ways you could be draining your battery and didn’t even know it! We have a few tips for increasing your battery life by making these small adjustments.
Use “Low Power Mode”
When our iPhones get to 20% battery, a screen appears asking if we want to access “low power mode” which exists to preserve your battery as long as possible. This is a great option to use all the time to save on battery life! In your Settings under Battery, you can turn the toggle on for full-time use.
Track your Battery Usage
Sometimes, we’re not even aware of the applications and other items we are using that drains our batteries. Checking your usage and determining what apps and activities use up your battery can help you better plan for your smartphone habits.
Adjust your brightness
The pixels in Apple products are advanced, so that when your brightness is set high, it will drain your battery. Finding a dimness that works for your vision but saves you battery life is a happy medium that can be accomplished.
Utilize Airplane Mode
Data and Wi-Fi can use a shocking amount of battery from our phones. Think about it, you’re connected all the time! If there’s a period during the day where you are not using your phone at all, set it to Airplane Mode as to avoid the extra battery use.
Stop Your Location Services
Nearly every app asks for access to your locations, and unless it is necessary, will drain your battery through Wi-Fi or data. Turning off apps location services in your Settings will save you the headache of losing battery power while simply shopping.
